Sailboat Experience

Here are some sailboats I've had the pleasure of working with.

What I Offer

I bring a unique combination of skills and expertise to ensure your experience in the Sea of Cortez is exceptional:

  • Cultural and Linguistic Insight: Deep understanding of local culture, language, and an extensive network.

  • Navigational Expertise: Up-to-date knowledge of topography, navigational routes, anchorage spots, and diving points.

  • Bilingual Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret and translate ideas into Spanish.

  • Leadership and Safety: Skilled in guiding and leading in aquatic environments, including delivering briefings, providing first aid and CPR, managing groups, and handling stressful situations effectively.

I'm here to make your time in the Sea of Cortez as enjoyable and seamless as possible.

My name is Juan Carlos De Garay.

I was born in Mexico City in 1995.

Three years later, my parents moved to Cabo San Lucas in search of a brighter future.

I grew up by the beach and got comfortable swimming in the sea very early in my life.

Going to Mexico City for college was hard for me. So much that I didn't last long.

After two years, I came back home during a winter holidays, and got introduced to the world of scuba diving by a friend.

It was love at first dive.

When I was told I could turn this newfound love into a professional career, I stepped on the gas pedal, and never looked back.

After eight years, I discovered besides diving, what I enjoy most is being on boats. Sailboats specifically.

I've been in the sailing lifestyle for two years now and looking forward for many more cruising adventures.
